Daniel invited us to NWBrickCon at Seattle Center, and it was bigger than ever! I especially loved the reprise of Lego Brokeback Mountain, and all of the other inside-type jokes (see attached pictures).
What was interesting about the whole thing was the artistic expression that comes from a lego scene. There was humor. There was whimsy. There was intimacy (that picture didn’t come out). It’s an interesting art form, and in the right hands, it unlocks a powerful mind.
The only wierdness was all of the interest in the lego weapons booth in the back. Make lego, not war!

From northwest brickcon. Notice Darth Vader trying to cross the street.
I may have scooped Champagne Buffet on this one, but it is sort of in the realm of new cell phone, even though it is not a new cell phone. It’s a watch that alerts you to the CallerID of the person/thing who is calling you, and allows you to answer or reject the call. Kind of neat. Except that it is only compatible with Sony Ericsson or Symbian OS phones (and who buys either of those anymore).
I can’t wait to see what the Apple iPhone will have in store.
