CNN posted a fascinating account of Bill Gates’ method of working. It’s interesting to see what someone who has unlimited resources does to manage their life.
I am struck by the fact that the mogul of the best technology company in the world (along with the rest of us) is essentially stuck in 1990’s paradigm of reading e-mail and linking out to Web sites. I know he mentions Sharepoint and the like, but how much longer are we going to be writing documents in a word processor, attaching them to e-mail, sending them, and then receiving them back, saving them, editing them, and redoing the whole cycle?
It’s still pretty darn difficult to share information with people in a useful way, get their expertise added on, and move it along. Ugh. There’s gotta be a better solution than having three monitors and several different software programs that are disjointed.
