I know it’s not April yet, but this is the April book. The library is just delivering off my hold list like i have never seen.
I think the whole world has read this one already. It’s very stimulating, perhaps too much, because there’s a lot of badness in the world. If you’ve read it, tell me what you thought of it.
From Daniel’s and my day, walking around the neighborhood. It’s pretty here, no?

I’m just starting this - it’s not hard core business psychology, I don’t think. It’s just street smart business. It took me quite a while to get it from the public library, so at least a few people must be reading it. Gotta keep up with the Joneses!
Updated: Finished this. I would call this “aka Life isn’t Fair.” It was a very interesting read, overall. It starts out pretty negative and I think is designed to scare people. I worry about that, because the message is a reasonable one - put yourself in the position who are looking out not just for you, but for hundreds or thousands of your customers and co-workers. If you do that, you’ll know what the right thing to do, is. I say, don’t be scared, just be contientious, do good work, and help everyone around you be successful.
I really liked the advice at the end that it’s never too late to change your ways. Start now.
Okay, so this article is making the rounds on on the Mac oriented Web sites. I read it (okay, just part of it), and then went to the original blog. I would hardly call this a security lecture to anyone. Reading more of the post and the comments makes me wonder if a company like Microsoft really wants one of their employees representing them and then responding to comments the way they are being responded to (you just have to go read it yourself, I won’t go into it here :)). I mean, not in a world where your name and integrity are important to your business. And to Microsoft, they are (and why not? They are a good company).
Apple Gets Security Lecture from Microsoft
The concern that remains is the one that looks at the overall big picture about the usability of Windows machines and the ability of Microsoft to keep them secure. The machines that I use have not had these kinds of problems, nor are these problems as widespread compared to the Windows world. So, people can point out that there’s a security threat here or there. I suppose those can be made to look glamorous if there’s only 2 in 5 years, and the best attempts to publicly compromise a Macintosh result in utter and complete failure. Let’s have that same contest with a Windows machine. It’s a countdown not in days or minutes, but seconds. Bummer!
Bottom line is it that it is in everyone’s interest to have secure computing, regardless of platform. Who pays for it when computers and networks are compromised at your school, business, producer of the food you eat and the technology you buy? That would be us.
Go Walgreen’s!
As the post below states, their shareholders typically are rewarded handsomely by sponsorship like this.

Reminds me I have to do my part to support this pro-health, pro-diversity event.
I visited the Juan Valdez Cafe today in Seattle. It’s an interesting place that I first noticed in DC and decided to stop in and check out. It turns out that this is owned by the National Federation of Columbian coffee Growers and all of the products are free trade. And the coffee tastes pretty good. Seattle has two stores now, and is part of the first run of these. See it is special to live here.
I didn’t even realize spring was here. I just noticed that today was the first day that the sun was out when I went to work, and when I went home. It’s all gravy from here.
Jabra BT620s -bringing hi-fi stereo music to your mobile phone
The video showing the woman using these while she is cruising the freezer aisle in the grocery store is on the hilarious side, but maybe the wireless age has come?
