The Seattle Times: Business & Technology: Builders face towering problem: too few cranes
60 new cranes in the Seattle skyline in 2006. Our time has come!
I am not usually in the business of critiquing television shows (see Daniel’s TV Blog for that), but I did want to comment on the issue of branding, and specifically Outback Steakhouse.
As you saw in the show (
The Apprentice: Weekly Summary), at the very end, Randall gets a “hard time” from the CEO of Outback. He is concerned that Randall’s project may not represent his brand in the best light, if things aren’t perfectly coordinated.
The thing is though, doesn’t intimidating one of the potential apprenti on national TV do wonders (and not in a good way) for your brand?
I mean, I am a fan of the bloomin’ onion and all that, but it’s no Red Robin Onion Rings. And after that performance, does Outback leave me with a down home fun brand? Or a scary, don’t come near me brand? Just something to think about.
