I was a little worried about the whole Apple Dashboard Widgets
thing when it first came out. Basically, another add on process to Mac OS X, which takes up CPU resources. And you sort of can’t turn it off. I know processors these days are blazing fast, but we all know that MS-DOS in many ways was faster than the computers of today, that are lumbering under the load of “pretty windows.” But I digress.
In any event, my favorite widget is the one that you quickly bring up and does something helpful for you. No more - “I better handwrite that envelope because I’ll never figure out how to laser print it.”
I think Apple and Ambrosia software have finally put an end to the computer equivalent of the VCR blinking 12:00 problem. You can now print envelopes easily!
