Okay, the CSS errors I found are now fixed. It seems that once you learn CSS and you leave it for like 5 minutes, you forget everything about it. Thank goodness for O’Reilly books. All the way around.

I am settling into both this theme and Wordpress. I need to dismantle my former photoblog next and come up with a solution for those photos. That should be enjoyable. When that’s done, I will completely shut down my Movable type installation forever. Waah….

Interestingly, the Movable Type folks are releasing their new version 3.2 tomorrow, allegedly. It actually looks quite cool. I guess there’s never a good time to end a relationship.

Oh, and movies play again. One thing I am probably going to venture into is password protection of posts. Wordpress allows you to do that, and you know what, I don’t really need the world to see every photo on this blog.

I’m moving over to this more zen-like theme for now. I liked the creamy coffee cup but I didn’t like the size of the image or the coloring. Too clean and bland. Like Canada!

This also spells the end of the line for Movable Type for me.

I really enjoyed starting my blogging journey using Movable Type - it’s a great beginner’s blog and easy to learn.

Wordpress has me captivated, though. I love the simplicity and the fact that it is built natively to generate pages dynamically. It has great anti-spam control (knock on titanium) and seems to be more compatible with the open source stuff that’s out there.

I would probably still recommend that Apple Computer buy Movable Type for it iBlog application (I know nothing about Apple’s plans, just a big fan wondering when .Mac will support blogging). On the other hand Wordpress is more open source-y. Well Apple will do what Apple thinks its customers want.

In the meantime, I want Wordpress.

Oh, and this theme has a few CSS errors. Or maybe my XHTML has errors. So excuse them while I clean things up.

Movies are broken again. Fun!
