I don’t know what’s going on. It’s sort of a flashback to 3 years ago, but it’s back in my life again. And it’s good. Really good.
The Cheesecake Factory :: Home :. Something for Everyone!
We saw War of the Worlds Movie last night on impulse. Opening night!
I’m glad I went, but I don’t know how good it was. It was just…OK. I sort of lost it when Tom Cruise started singing to Dakota Fanning. That was definitely the point when I whipped out my imaginary Tivo remote control and hit 30 second skip a few times. What was that really - a way to deal with the fact that they had run out of special effects?
And what about Dakota? Did she really strech herself here or will she be doomed to be this generation’s Carol Ann?
The whole thing was sort of anti-climactic. That plus Tom’s recent showing in the press may be adding up to a bad combination over all. I think he should drink some Ginseng tea, take a few breaths, and maybe duck out of the limelight for a bit. Tom, if it’s going to happen, it will happen, don’t worry.
One of the coolest things about Microsoft Entourage, the e-mail client for Macintosh, is that it uses WebDAV to access mailboxes, which doesn’t require any tricky VPN or some such thing.
It does not use RPC over HTTP, which is the way that Outlook clients can use a Web-like connection to access mail from outside a firewall:
Exchange Security: Entourage and RPC-over-HTTP
Here’s the problem, though. WebDAV is an Outlook Web access like connection, and Outlook Web access has this “issue,” where, if it is secured properly, will not allow the opening of e-mail with “URL-like” characters in the subject line. This includes things like “&” or “…” or “//” or “::”. So if anyone sends you mail like that, your Entourage client will not pick it up. This is about 5-10% of the e-mail that I get.
More detail here.
Bummer.
Unfortunately, Comcast doesn’t carry it…yet. It’s produced by MTV Networks.
Their Web site allows you to have them contact your cable/satellite provider and ask for it.
It’s here! I subscribed to Inside Mac Daily News (what else?)
This sort of begs the question about the Motorola iTunes phone. I mean, why hassle with syncing your iPod when you’ll be able to pull podcasts down as you walk around?
Emma (link to her album “Free Me” on iTunes Music Store) is a new favorite. She’s the Robbie Williams of the Spice Girls, and her stuff is finally on iTunes.
To think I never thought she would amount to anything. There’s a good feeling that comes along with knowing about music before the iTunes music store does.
Thank goodness for Daniel Brown’s TV Blog: Into The West 9 other shows for your TiVo This Summer.
I was able to, relatively painlessly, begin refreshing my Tivo for the summer. If you look at my season pass list, it’s gathering some dust. I still think it has Manhunt on there.
I started the first show, 4400, and…I liked it. I’m a little bit concerned about getting sucked into a non-reality show.
It sure is nice to have something on my Tivo that I want to watch. Truthfully, I haven’t been keeping up with 30 minute meals. Rachel, I love you!
It’s hot in here. (Captured on the go with my Siemens S66)
