I am fresh from my very first trip to Boston and had to comment on this gem of a city. I didn’t really know what to expect, and I still don’t know what to expect. I have been a huge fan of DC for a long time now, and have equated that wonderful city with “East Coast.” But there’s more to the right coast than DC….
I don’t know exactly how to put it, except to say that there is something about east coast cities that draws me in. And Boston did the same. When I first arrived, the dusk seemed so..complex. This image really captured that for me for some reason. It was sort of dreamy and real. When I woke up every morning I could not wait to take a bite out of the city. But what was I biting? I am not sure.
I heard a lot about how Boston residents are “mean,” but I didn’t see a lot of meanness. I suppose I didn’t see a lot of niceness either. Which is fine with me.
The gay part of town is just sort of there, it is not a theme park like the Castro is, or as obvious as Dupont Circle is. I had great hostesses in Tom, Steve, Rich, and Pete. Even attended an Atlantis Events party or two and reminisced about the cruise.
Is all of this vague enough? I suspect I will need to return to form a more coherent opinion. All I know is that I want to go back. Twist my arm!
