I find it hard to believe that Rachel Ray is not more celebrated in blogland. She doesn’t have her own blog as far as I can tell (which is totally fine), but there’s no blog shrine to her. Is this because she hasn’t hit it big yet, or are her 15 minutes over?
She’s getting attention on a blog or two here: BrothersJudd Blog: COOKIN’ AIN’T ROCKET SCIENCE, SWEETIE:
Now, I only found out about her because Tivo sent her to me. And what’s wrong with her? She’s perky, optimistic, and on a micro-scale emblematic of the modern AmeriCAN (as opposed to the AmeriCAN’T). If she can pull a meal off in 30 minutes with a smile on her face day after day, I have a feeling she’s headed to the moon. As my friend Matt said, “Start your grillpans, (expletive deleted)!!!!!” Go, Rachel, go!
Every so often I go out and buy a computer book. I guess I just like to teach myself new tricks. So, there’s this book,
Sams Teach Yourself Movable Type in 24 Hours, and the O’Reilly Definitive Guide to Cascading Style Sheets.
Cool thing about blogs is that they push style sheets to the extreme.
The 24 hour book, is pretty good, and comprehensive. It rounds out the edges of all of the great content online at the Movable Type Web Site, and of course, others’ blogs.
Our moblog broke temporarily. Why? Because T-mobile changed the format of picture messaging from plain text to HTML with multiple images attached (a masthead and T-mobile logo), which broke the script and caused ugliness in the mediablog.
So picture messages are now double the size they used to be and are adorned with T-mobile branding as attached images. Simpler is better people….
At least the moblog is fixed now.
It’s now at T-mobile. No bluetooth, but with VGA camera. Om Malik on Broadband Samsungs D 415 is a killa
The title says it all…it’s a potent employee communication tool, it really is…

It did look neat in the pictures. I guess it sucks. Doesn’t play MP3’s, and Mossberg says “Sony stinks at software.” I suppose that’s true. I like my SonyEricsson phone, though..oh well.
The Mossberg Solution — Personal Technology from The Wall Street Journal.
I am a little slow on the uptake - this story is now a month old, but, it says here in this blog that points to a story in the Seattle Times that Bill Gates may start his own blog. At the very least, it says he is talking it up. It is clear that his company is doing a lot of good things with blogs. Letter to Bill Gates, Soon to be a Weblogger
As I have been moblogging with my current cell phone camera, I am still thinking about the next cell phone I might own, one with a good camera. The S700iby Sony Ericsson is presented as a device that is as much a camera as a cell phone. I went to the T-mobile store yesterday only to find that it takes up to a year for these products to make it to my cell phone carrier. It feels like this industry is in need of a reorganization. I can always dream, though. What do you think of this one? Comments welcome…
So many reality shows, so little time! Maybe it’s time to get the home media option for Tivo. There’s Growing Up Gotti, a favorite, Airline, and Blow Out.
Blow Out is interesting, Jonathan Antin is sort of a benevolent manager with just a tad more self insight than Rocco DiSpirito, who seemed to be on the clueless side. On the other hand, I am sure both shows are edited carefully. Airline and Blow Out are great to watch if you are interested in studying the art of customer service. We’ll see what Gotti has to offer…
This post in Macintouch: Wireless Networking (Part 23) talks about a user connecting his airport express to an existing wireless router. Apple’s specs say you have to use an Apple Airport Extreme base station. So, what’s the truth? I would love another beacon in my home, but don’t want to give up the firewall that comes with my current router….comments welcome on this one.
Um, the blog community figured this out already. See our Mediablog. Uploading photos from a camera cell phone right to your blog is much more cool than this offering.

I came across Wired News: Inside Look at Birth of the IPod. Very interesting. It is a great story about how complicated high tech projects can be, and the need for perseverance.
