Problems with Office 2004 and Tiger
Since installing Tiger, I was having slowdowns with Entourage and this wierd hard drive screeching noise, like my poor powerbook was working really hard to do something.
It seems that spotlight is trying to index the Entourage Database, which of course it can’t do very well, tying up the CPU.
Adding the Microsoft User Data folder to the list of folders that spotlight doesn’t index does the trick. Not mentioned on Apple site anywhere, yet!
